After an intense day of investigation, Adele decides to take a break and returns home to rest. Her relaxation, however, is short-lived. A masked intruder ambushes her, catching her by surprise and shoving a small ball into her mouth. She tries to escape, and the man pushes a chloro cloth over her mouth and nose. She initially manages to free herself, spits out the ball and screams, but then she is chloroformed again, eventually passing out.

Adele finds herself tied up with plastic zip ties. When she realizes the situation, she tries to call for help. The man shoves the ball back into her mouth and then proceeds to gag her with duct tape around her mouth and head. He then takes smaller zip ties and ties her thumbs and big toes together.

At this point, Adele struggles, curling and flexing her toes. Someone is nearby, and she moans and writhes, hoping they can hear her muffled screams. The man then warns her to stop struggling around like that. He now holds her phone and shows her photos of some of her relatives and a fellow police officer, bound and gagged. Adele's eyes become denial, as her struggles for help cease, becoming more like "I'll do whatever is asked." He makes her to wiggle her toes, and after a while, he leaves the room.

When she thinks the intruder is gone, she thrashes slowly and tries to figure out what to do. Then, suddenly, she is chloroformed again for the last time.
